A pale straw colour with golden hints and a velvety white frothy head, which reduces gently to some light lacing. To the nose, Edel is mostly hops mixed with a biscuit sweetness and a freshly baked bread aroma with a hint of sweet apples and pears. Easily drinkable. Crisp and refreshing.
A substantial beer ideal in Craft, Cask and Food venues - our 'EDEL' won 'BEST DORTMUNDER STYLE PILS' at the World Beer Cup 2017 and Bronze at The International Beer Challenge 2018.
This is a light, bright and very satisfying beer. Lightly golden with a bubbly, medium white head that steadily shrinks to a thin foamy lace. The aroma is soft and sweet with grain and very flowery hops. The taste is full bodied grain with lots of green apple and light but persistent hints of pine and herbs, with a light bitterness that persists through to the finish. The easy drinking style of slow brewed, low carbonated 'Helles' lager. A smooth, creamy, balanced beer that has wide appeal across both men and women.
Winner World Beer Championships 2018 'BEST MUNICH HELLES' style beer and crowned 2018 'Supreme Champion' at The International Beer Challenge.
A top fermented fruity, aromatic and lively, full-bodied beer. With a wonderful honey yellow colour and a strong foam generation. Our wheat beer has a natural yeast cloudiness with a yeast sediment. Easy drinking with soft floral flavours. Bavaria is famed for its Wheat Beers and ours is particularly easy drinking and highly regarded.
Gloriously dark, rich and fruity aromatic beer. This wonderful top fermented beer is coupled with notes of caramel and dark chocolate. Munich is famous for its iconic 'Dunkels' and we think ours is right up there and represents ABK's roots and regionality.
Our special Festival beer is brewed specially for Christmas season. The brewers' thank you to the faithful ABK beer drinker is traditionally this particularly substantial amber-colored special beer malt-stressed, bottom-fermented beer. Full bodied and full flavoured. A wonderful treat from the ABK head brewer, Bernd Trick.
Our Kellerbier is based on the oldest known recipe at ABK, dating back to 1308. Kellerbier translates to 'cellar beer', an obvious reference to the cooler temperatures the beer is brewed and conditioned under. Lacking any type of refrigeration technology, brewer's would brew their beer during the cool months of the year and then lager them in caves. These caves acted like natural cellars allowing the beer to remain at a stable, cool temperature for the length of their slow maturation. Naturally cloudy and unfiltered, a delicious tasty beer.
Radler comes from the word 'bicycle' and the need for a refreshing, less-alcoholic beverage on a bicycle ride through the Bavarian countryside.
The story goes that a German innkeeper was waiting for his cyclist visitors, when he found out that he didn't have enough beer, so he blended the remaining beer with fresh citrus lemonade.
The cyclists really liked the new drink, and so became Radler!
A 50/50 mix of ABK Edel and Organic Leo Lemonade also made by ABK.
Best served ice cold!
